About Project Principal J. Kou Vang, President and CEO:

Kou serves as President & CEO of JB Vang (JBV), a St. Paul-based real estate development firm established in 1984. Under his leadership, JBV has developed over $1 billion in real estate and currently manages over 2 million square feet.

In addition to his role at JBV, Kou is President & CEO of Legacy Funeral Home, a funeral service provider founded in 1996. LFH specializes in culturally sensitive services for the Hmong, Hispanic, East African, and other BIPOC communities. Kou also holds the position of Chairman & CEO of Lake Country Community Bank, a community bank established in 1927, which has expanded its presence significantly under his guidance.

Deeply committed to community service, Kou has held board positions for numerous organizations, including serving as a founding member of the MN Hmong Chamber of Commerce. His service has also extended to the Midway and St. Paul Chambers of Commerce, the RiverCenter Board of Commissioners, HOPE Community Academy, United Way, and District 4 Community Council.
